Inspired to create JOIIA
At my lowest moment, I found myself in and out of the hospital, filled with fear and uncertainty about what would happen next. I did not know if I would be okay. Yet, just as clearly as I remember the fear, I remember the compassion.
The nurses and doctors did more than simply provide medical care. They treated me with dignity and kindness, welcoming me as though I were part of their family. They listened to me, offered comfort, and made sure I felt seen, heard, and safe during my most vulnerable time. Their professionalism, empathy, and steady presence transformed one of the most frightening experiences of my life into a moment that revealed the best of humanity.
That experience inspired JOIIA, a line of antimicrobial scrubs created to honor the healthcare workers who cared for me like family. With over 20 years of garment industry experience around me. I knew I wanted to create a way to protect the healthcare workers yet still make them feel comfortable. We chose fabric with 99.9 percent antibacterial protection and designed scrubs that are lightweight, comfortable, and accessible. For healthcare workers, scrubs are more than a uniform, they are the armor they wear to protect themselves while caring for us.
